Office of Emergency Management
The Livingston County Office of Emergency Management Services will ensure, through coordination with County and Local Shareholders, that the county is prepared to respond to and recover from all natural and man-made emergencies.
The Office of Emergency Management and the County will provide the leadership and support to reduce loss of life and property through an all hazards emergency management program of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery throughout Livingston County.
"Our vision is for governmental, volunteer, and private organizations, with effective plans, necessary resources, and training, to have an effective response to natural and man-made disasters. The accomplishment of this is through Coordination, Cooperation and Communication, which will allow us to successfully work together to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from all-hazards related emergencies and disasters."
Identify and assist the mitigation of natural and man-made hazards.
Develop and maintain plans for major emergencies and disasters.
Provide the direction and coordination to identify and manage the resources needed for a major emergency or disaster.
Serve as the focal point for the coordination and liaison between the Local, State and Federal governments in response to and recovery from major emergencies and disasters.
Comply with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and New York State Office of Emergency Management requirements for receipt of program information and funds.
